For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.  Matthew 6:21

There are some people who want God to be rich towards them, but are they rich towards God?  Jesus gave the parable of a man who had great wealth but he had acquired the spirit of greed. This rich man set out to build a plush life cushioned with much goods laid up for many years. He thought that he was set for life. He tore down his small barns and built bigger barns to store all of his fruits and goods.  He thought now I can just take ease, eat, drink and be merry.  But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?  So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.  Luke 12:20-21  What a selfish man.  He laid up treasures for himself and was not rich towards God the on who had blessed him with everything that he owned.  We can glean valuable lessons from this rich man:
1.  Keep your spirit prepared to return back to the God who gave it,  because we don't know when God will say "this night thy shall be required of thee.
2. Be rich towards God: But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth,  Deuteronomy 8:18
One way to be rich towards God is to Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: Proverbs 3:9
Just think of how many times people misappropriate Gods' funds by not tithing and short changing him in offerings just to lay up treasures for themselves. Misappropriation of funds is intentional, illegal use of the funds of another person for one's own use or other unauthorized purpose.

If we are rich towards God, God will be rich towards us.  Jesus promised: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.  Luke 6:38  Now that is a blessing plan!
